CCTV released after clubber knocked out by single punch

Detectives have released CCTV in a bid to trace the man who attacked a clubber after a single punch knocked him unconscious outside a Birmingham bar.

The reveller was left with a fractured skull and a bleed on his brain after the attack on Broad Street at around 2.30am on Friday June 6.

DC Antony Hammerton, from force CID, is investigating the attack. He said: "This was an unprovoked attack leaving an 18-year-old lad with serious injuries requiring medication and rendering him unable to work.

"I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or who can identify the man in the footage."

The attacker is described as a white man, around 5ft 10ins tall and with a skinny build. He had floppy, curtain-style hair and was wearing a black jacket with a white top underneath.

Anyone with information should contact DC Hammerton on 101, alternatively information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
