A long-awaited £60million supermarket in Wolverhampton will open on July 9, it can be revealed today.
Retail giant Sainsbury's is due to open its new store in Raglan Street next week.
The new highly anticipated supermarket has been more than a decade in the making.
The current city centre store in St George's Parade will close a day earlier, with some 200 staff from there joining 250 new recruits at Raglan Street.
The new supermarket will include a cafe, gym, petrol station and recycling centre.
Work is expected to end on June 30, with the following 10 days to be spent stocking the shelves.
Sainsbury's fought a bitter battle with rival Tesco which went all the way to the courts in a bid to secure the site.Subscribe to our Newsletter
