Emergency services were called to the bungalow-style home, in Boundary Way, Wightwick, in Wolverhampton, at around 12.15pm today.

A car was also destroyed by the force of the flames next to the house which suffered damage to its roof.

Around 20 firefighters were sent to the scene near Perton Road as the blaze took hold.

Flames destroyed a car parked on a driveway next to the house with debris scattered outside.

Four firefighters had to wear breathing apparatus to allow them to get close enough to bring it under control using hoses.
