Members of all three emergency services were called to the scene of the collision at the McDonald's roundabout on the A449 Stafford Road north of the city centre.

A black BMW is thought to have crashed into a lamppost and the roundabout before coming to rest on a nearby grass verge at around 12.45am on Saturday.

Three people were found with injuries and were treated at the scene, although the extent of their injuries are not yet clear.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Two crews from Fallings Park Fire Station were alerted to an RTC on the A449 in Wolverhampton and arrived at 12.48am.

"They found a black BMW which had collided with a lamp post and the roundabout and come to a halt on a grass verge.

"There were three people with injuries, but were able to get out of the car and receive treatment at the scene.

"Our crews then made the car safe and left the incident with police as there was some police interest at 1.10am."

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "It appears to be a single car which has collided with a roundabout at around 12:45am this morning.

"Three people in the car received injuries which are not thought to be life threatening."
