Car and van in head-on crash in Wolverhampton

A car and van crashed head-on in a early morning smash in Wolverhampton.

One passenger was cut free from one of the vehicles after the crash which happened in Lichfield Road.

It happened at around 12am today with crews from Fallings Park Fire Station joining paramedics at the scene.

A dark grey BMW car and white commercial van were involved.

Three other causalities managed to exit the car themselves.

Paramedics were called but the extent of the injuries is not known at this stage.

Fire crews left by around 1.10am.

Meanwhile, in a separate crash, the driver of a separate silver BMW is believed to have fled the scene after their car ended up in bushes outside Brierley Hill Fire Station.

The car is understood to have hit the roundabout with speed before flying into undergrowth off Dudley Road.

Officers from West Midlands Police informed crews from West Midlands Fire Service at around 5am who attended shortly after.

The car suffered minimal damage.
