Burglar jailed after stealing £20,000 worth of items in Walsall

A burglar who broke into a newly-renovated house and stole around £20,000 worth of items has been jailed.

Andrew Cooper took a front door, kitchen and bathroom from the property in Shelfield, Walsall, between March 27 and March 30.

The 43-year-old was caught after officers matched the blood left at the scene to him – leading to him being charged with burglary.

Cooper, of no fixed address, was handed a 32-month jail term at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.
