Leyla Kacperowicz, aged two, and Romina, aged nine months, were believed to be with 61-year-old Genowefa Kacperowicz.

The children went missing from their Walsall home six days ago, on December 21. West Midlands Police said they had been taken from their guardian without consent.

An urgent appeal was launched to find the sisters and witnesses were urged to come forward.

The force said previously that it was thought they may have been taken to Poland. Police also released pictures of the sisters yesterday in an attempt to trace them.

Walsall Police, in a tweet, said: “We are urgently trying to trace two children who have gone missing from #Walsall.

“Leyla Kacperowicz, aged two, and her nine-month-old sister Romina, are believed to be with their grandmother, Genowefa Kacperowicz, aged 61.” Officers are also liaising with police in Poland over the missing sisters.

Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency 101 number.
