Richard James Cheshire, 37, was pronounced dead in Trinity Way, where he was hit by a silver Renault Clio on August 3.

The Go Fund Me page was launched earlier this week and is looking to raise £500 to assist his family with funeral costs.

So far, nearly £100 has been raised in a few days.

In a statement, his devastated family said: "We lost our son, brother, dad, grandad, cousin, uncle and friend to many, way too soon. We will never get over this heartache.

"You were taken so cruelly, our hearts are broken.”

Nayyib Mohammed, of Marshall Street in Smethwick, has been charged with causing Mr Cheshire's death by dangerous driving.

The 24-year-old is also charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

He will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on September 2.

An inquest into Mr Cheshire's death has been opened and adjourned, while the police investigation continues.
