Driver fled scene after Lye crash

A driver fled the scene of a crash which resulted in another driver being cut from his car and taken to hospital.

Police are appealing for information to trace the driver of a VW Golf which was involved in a crash at the junction of Pedmore Road and Stourbridge Road in Lye on Monday.

The driver of a BMW had to be cut from his car by firefighters and was taken to Russells Hall Hospital. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police received a 999 call at 4.20am on Monday reporting a two-car collision at junction of Pedmore Road and Stourbridge Road in Lye involving a BMW and a VW Golf.

"The BMW driver suffered whiplash-type injuries and went to hospital for a check-up. The driver of the other car left the scene and efforts are on-going to try and trace him. Anyone with information to contact WMP on 101 quoting log number 241 from 21 January."
