Police appeal as Brierley Hill crash leaves biker critical

Police are appealing for witnesses after a biker was left critically injured in a crash in Brierley Hill.

The motorcyclist, a man aged 22, remains in hospital in a serious condition after being involved in a collision with a Renault Megane car on Friday.

The crash happened on Wallows Road at its junction with Planet Road, behind the Oak Retail Park on Dudley Road, at around 7.20pm.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were called to the scene and the man biker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The driver of the black Megane, a woman, was treated for shock by paramedics but was otherwise not injured.

No arrests have been made and police have now appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in contact.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: ""We’re working to establish exactly what happened and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk, or via 101."

Two fire engines from Brierley Hill were sent to help the ambulance service and make the scene safe.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
