Go Carz is now operating an office at Trafalgar House in King Street, Dudley – with bosses saying they are more able to serve the community from a “designated, more local base”.

The move follows a campaign which has seen the firm look to recruit up to 100 drivers to cater for the anticipated extra demand.

Cindy Wilday, director of Go Carz, said of the opening: “The opening of the new office has gone really smoothly – we want to let everyone in the area know Go Carz is open for business in Dudley, and we are different to other firms.

“We have been getting great feedback from customers who are enjoying being able to use our mobile phone app to make bookings, and use their credit card to pay, which is not always standard with other firms.

"We are also fully committed to providing low, fixed fares – the price your call handler quotes is the price you pay,” Ms Wilday added.

Go Carz has been established for more than 21 years and has bases in Wolverhampton, Willenhall and Walsall, as well as in Telford and Shrewsbury across the county border in Shropshire.

Ms Wilday added: “We have already been working in Dudley for a while, but the number of calls were increasing all the time and we felt we really needed a presence in the town to be able to go to the next level.

"Our office opened on January 28 and we have already seen a difference.

“There was clearly a need to be filled in Dudley and Go Carz is delighted to be playing a bigger role in the local community.”

The company said it had also seen a marked increase in trade since bus company Arriva added 10p to day tickets and single fares last month.
