More than 90 applications have flooded in for 100 new nursing posts in just a fortnight since a recruitment drive was launched by health bosses in Walsall.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust revealed today they have received 94 applications in total. It comes as chiefs seek to reduce the multi-million pound bill for temporary workers.
A series of recruitment sessions have been lined up, with a second being held at Manor Hospital from 5pm tonight.
It recently emerged that the overall cost for bank, locum and agency staff was £4.39 million in April, May and June.
The expenditure in August came to £2.044m, an increase on the £1.8m spent in July.
