Stafford Hospital’s A&E department has been rated as the best in the Midlands and the third best in the country by patients.
The department was given a score of 82, with the maximum attainable being 100. Patients were asked whether they would recommend the unit to friends and family.
New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton was the worst performing in the region in July, with a score of 37 placing it as the 22nd worst in the country.
Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust scored 49 on the satisfaction rating, the Dudley Group NHS Foundation got 54, while Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust scored 71.
The University of North Staffordshire, which could take over Stafford Hospital, was given 55. The national average was 54.
