Wednesfield crash: Car rolls onto roof in smash leaving five injured - PICTURES and VIDEO

A car overturned and another severely smashed after a crash in Wednesfield which left five injured.

Neachells Lane was closed following the crash between an Audi and Volkswagen, leaving the latter on its roof.

Two people went to New Cross Hospital with minor injuries following the crash, with three others treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The smash happened at about 6.15pm on Monday, leaving the road closed until the overturned car could be removed.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Three ambulances attended and there were five patients who were treated with minor injuries at the scene.

"A 44-year-old man was taken to New Cross Hospital with back and abdominal pain. He was from the overturned car, which he was out of the by the team our services arrived.

"A woman in her 30s had a hand injuries and bruising to her shoulder - typical seat belt injuries. She was also taken to New Cross."

Neachells Lane was closed between Planetary Road and Phoenix Close near Screwfix following the accident.
