Fire tackled at derelict Oldbury pub The Doll's House after suspected arson attack

A derelict pub was on set fire in a suspected arson attack in a Black Country town.

The Doll's House, in Newbury Lane, Oldbury, suffered damage following the blaze.

West Midlands Fire Service received 11 emergency calls to the blaze, a spokesman for the force said.

Fire crews were called at around 7.10pm on Monday.

Firefighters from Oldbury station tweeted: "We have dealt with another suspected arson attack on The Dolls House (derelict) pub."

A total of four fire engines were called to the scene, made up of three crews from Oldbury and one from Haden Cross station.

The pub has been derelict for a while

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to get close to tackle the flames.

An aerial photograph taken by firefighters on top of a hydraulic platform revealed damage to the buildings roof and exterior walls.

The image showed a fire engine parked up outside the pub, while metal fencing which had been placed in front of the building to block access have been moved.

The fire engine had blocked access to motorists on the road.

Holes could be also seen in the roof, where the fire appeared to have caused damage.

The fire has been targeted in fires previously.

The pub was recently fenced off.
