Woman taken to hospital after being hit by car in Stafford

A woman suffered concussion and pelvic injuries after she was hit by a car in Stafford.

The crash happened at 7.30am today near the Queensville roundabout involving a silver Hyundai.

An off-duty nurse was one of the first to arrive on the scene and tend to the 36-year-old female pedestrian before two ambulances arrived.

The woman was then immobilised and taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Lichfield Road was blocked while the incident was dealt with creating heavy congestion in the area for around an hour until the route was re-opened around 8.30am.

Staffordshire Police issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101.
