Man struck by car in Darlaston is recovering

A man was today recovering in hospital after being struck by a car in an accident in Darlaston.

Paramedics were called to the junction of Walsall Road and Cobden Street at 7.43pm on Sunday after reports of a collision.

The man in his 30s was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with injuries to his head, back and a suspected leg fracture.

An ambulance and paramedic area support officer from West Midlands Ambulance Service was in attendance as well as a rapid response vehicle from the Coventry and Warwickshire Air Ambulance crew.

West Midlands Police were also in attendance and closed the road.

A spokesman said: "The road was closed following a collision between a car and a man.

"The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries to his head, leg and body. Inquiries are on-going."
