Whitmore Reans house fire: Repair works may cost £50,000 after blaze ripped through home

Severe damage caused to a home following a blaze could cost up to £50,000 to repair.

Flames ripped through the first floor of the property in Bright Street on Monday afternoon.

A couple at the home escaped unharmed. Neighbouring houses were evacuated.

The property's landlord has been advised it could cost up to £50,000 to repair the damage.

Mark Ridley, of Rowan Tree Rentals, said: "I have been there and it is pretty uninhabitable.

An insurance advisor told me it could be £50,000 worth of damage."
