The crash happened northbound between junction three for Halesowen and two for Oldbury at around 10.21am.

Emergency services were forced to shut all three lanes northbound in the aftermath of the collision.

Fire crews from Oldbury, Haden Cross and Woodgate Valley fire stations arrived at the scene alongside police and paramedics.

A woman, aged in her 20s, was treated at the scene for head and hand injuries.

She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, for further treatment.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Murray McGregor said: "The woman suffered minor injures."

Queues of traffic formed immediately following the crash leading back towards junction three and four for Lydiate Ash, near Bromsgrove.
