Ambulance overturns after crashing with double-decker bus in Birmingham

The ambulance ended up on its side after crashing with the double-decker in the Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

West Midlands Ambulance Service are investigating the incident, which happened on the corner of Brook Street and Newhall Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Two people on the bus and one ambulance crew member were taken to hospital but were later released.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We can confirm that and ambulance was involved in a collision with a double-decker bus in Birmingham early this morning which resulted in the ambulance ending up on its side.

"Two people from the bus were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham but have subsequently been released after treatment.

"One member of the ambulance crew has also been treated at the sane hospital and been discharged.

"A full investigation had been launched to establish exactly what happened."
