Factory worker injured in machinery accident in Kidderminster

A worker was badly injured when a hydraluic piece of machinery broke and hit him in the leg today.

He was airlifted to hospital after the accident on Bridge Road, Cookley near Kidderminster at about 8.30am.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The man had been injured when a high pressure hydraulic line broke hitting him on the left leg.

"He suffered a serious injury which was initially treated at the scene by ambulance staff."

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, after the air ambulance landed on sports pitches near the accident.
