Driveway blaze destroys caravan and car in Dudley

An early-hours blaze completely destroyed a caravan and a car in Dudley on Saturday, but was was prevented from spreading to the house thanks to the quick work of fire crews.

The fire started in a caravan parked outside a house in Norton at around 4am today and quickly spread to the owner's nearby car.

But the blaze was prevented from damaging the house on Heath Farm Road as crews arrived just in time.

Fire crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge fire stations attended the scene and managed to stop the blaze escalating.

Brierley Hill fire tweeted: "Caravan fire spread to car and house with @Stourbridgefire rapid response preventing full house fire #rtb"

They later confirmed that the car and caravan were 'totally destroyed" by the flames. No casualties were reported.

Stourbridge Fire Station tweeted, following the blaze: "Good work with Brierley Hill Fire Station to prevent a house fire."
