Crash closes link road between M6 and M5 twice

The link road between the M6 northbound and the M5 southbound was closed twice this morning.

The road was closed between the M6 at Junction 8 northbound to the M5 southbound from 9am until 10.30am while a police investigation was conducted into a single car crash which happened at around 12.45am this morning at Junction 8 of the M6 for the M5.

The crash - which saw the driver make off from the scene - closed the link road for two hours in the early hours of this morning.

The M6 northbound entry slip road at Junction 7 for Great Barr was also closed, but has reopened.

Police are attempting to trace the driver.
