Elderly cyclist found with head injuries in Sedgley road

A cyclist in his 70s has been found with head injuries in a Sedgley road.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Gospel End Road, Sedgley, near to Seven Stars Public House at around 11.45am this morning.

John Hawker, a spokesman for the service, said: "Crews arrived to find a cyclist on the floor who had suffered a head injury.

"The man, believed to be in his late 70's, received emergency treatment from medics at the scene and his condition was stabilised.

"Following treatment the man was transferred by land ambulance to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.

"It is not clear how the man ended up coming off his bicycle and being injured."
