Mystery as moped rider found seriously injured in street

A moped rider was found by a another motorist seriously injured in the street today.

It happened outside the Vauxhall Garage in Trindle Road, Dudley, at about 12.30am today.

Two ambulances were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "When crews arrived they found a man of approximately 20 who had suffered serious injuries lying in the road.

"It was not known what had happened to him.

"He had serious injuries to his chest and back and had suffered an open fracture of his knee.

"He was immobilised before being taken on blue lights to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for specialist care."
