Elderly woman dies after Kingswinford collision

Police have launched an appeal for information after an elderly woman was killed in a Kingswinford collision.

Paramedics treated the 75-year-old at the scene and she was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

The driver was spoken to by officers and the road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the collision.

The woman was struck by a white Ford Focus near to West Bromwich Building Society on Market Street, just after 10am on Saturday, December 13.

Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area on Saturday morning who may have witnessed the collision.

"The family of the lady has been informed and specialist officers continue to liaise with them at this sad time."

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers the independent charity on 0800 555 111.
