Pedestrian injured as cars collide in Chapel Ash

An elderly pedestrian was taken to hospital today after two cars collided in Wolverhampton.

Police were called to Chapel Ash, outside Barclays Bank, at around 11.45am after the collission involving a Renault Megane and a Vauxhall Astra.

The collision forced police to close the outbound lane, causing traffic congestion while they assessed the elderly woman.

She is believed to have been walking by the bank's entrance when the cars collided, knocking over a bollard and causing her minor injuries.

Police had left the site by 12.45pm and both vehicles had been recovered.
