Children among four injured in M6 crash

Four people, including a young boy and a girl, were taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars on the M6 near Great Barr this afternoon.

Three people in one of the vehicles were assessed at the scene and later released.

In the second car the male driver received chest injuries while a female passenger, believed to be in her 30s, was left with facial, arm, back and abdominal injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said two young children, a boy and a girl, received minor injuries.

It happened at around 2pm at Junction 7 northbound.

The four from the second car were taken to Sandwell General Hospital for further assessment.
