Woman, 25, killed in Staffordshire crash is named by police

A woman was killed when the car she was driving crashed into a wall in Stone.

The blue Peugeot 206 hit a gate post and wall of a property on the B5026 Eccleshall Road, near to the bridge over the M6.

The driver, who was named as 25-year-old Julie Faye Johnson, of Churchill Road, Walton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for some time after the crash, which happened in the early hours of Saturday.

Sgt Richard Moors, from the force's Collision Investigation Unit, said: "While the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning there may be witnesses who were in the area at the time and I would urge anyone with information about the collision to come forward.

"Specially trained family liaison officers are working with the relatives and our thoughts are with the family at this distressing time."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Moors or PC Andy Talbot at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 145 of November 30.
