Motorcyclist hurt in rush hour Oldbury crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after coming off his bike during busy rush hour traffic today.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Titford Lane and Wolverhampton Road in Oldbury at around 7.35am after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.

John Hawker spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "A man in his 30s was initially treated at the scene by an off-duty paramedic.

“An ambulance crew arrived and continued to treat his injuries before transferring him to Sandwell Hospital for further treatment.

“His condition remains unknown."

Officers from West Midlands Police were also at the scene and have closed off a section of road around the traffic lights for the Asda Superstore to allow the scene to be cleared.

Motorists travelling on the busy route were left with long waits up to and around the usually congested Birchley Island.
