Emergency services were called to Skinner Street but she was confirmed dead at the scene.

It is believed the woman fell from the Beatties car park at around 6.30pm on Friday.

The car park has been the scene of a number of fatal falls. Panic buttons were installed in 2011. The three buttons were installed on floors six and eight after Wolverhampton Coroner Richard Allen wrote to the department store owners following the deaths of people who had fallen from the building.

Fencing costing £25,000 was also installed.

House of Fraser, which runs the Beatties store, today said it would continue to try to reduce the number of fatal falls.
