Motorcyclist is hurt in Wolverhampton collision with car

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a suspected broken wrist after a crash on one of Wolverhampton’s busiest roads.

The smash between the motorbike and the Vauxhall Vectra happened shortly after 7.15pm last night on the Penn Road near to the junction with Lea Road.

Police sealed off the city bound side of the carriageway between Waitrose and McDonalds, while the wreckage from the crash was removed from the scene.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman Joanne Hunt said the 27-year-old motorcyclist also suffered other minor injuries while the driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was reopened at around 10pm.
