A Vauxhall Vectra knocked down the 7ft wall and skidded into the garden of the property on the corner of Vicarage Place and Bradford Street in Walsall.

Firefighters and police were called to the scene at around 8.15pm yesterday.

It is believed there was nobody in the property at the time of the crash and the driver was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital.

The car's bodywork was dented and the wall was this morning in pieces.

Firefighters from Walsall fire station attended and made the vehicle safe.

Watch commander John Haynes said: "The driver was lucky really because the wall had landed on the car."
