Man charged after Rugeley stabbing

A man has been charged after a stabbing in Staffordshire.

Police were called at 11am on Monday to reports that a man was being assaulted at a property in Coppice Road, in Rugeley.

The victim, aged 55 years old, received three stab wounds and was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance. He has since been discharged from hospital.

Robert Park, 41, of Coppice Road, in Rugeley, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

Park appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Tuesday morning and has been remanded in custody.

He will appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on September 25.
