Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after double stabbing in Dudley

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a double knife attack in Dudley.

West Midlands Police were called out to Jews Lane, Upper Gornal. at 11.15pm on Saturday.

A man had stabbed another man in the street before attacking a second man inside a house.

He escaped from the scene but officers arrested a suspect in Great Barr just before 7am today on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody.

One man suffered injuries to his hands, neck and shoulder; the second victim suffered knife wounds to his chest and arm. The injures are not believed to be life threatening.

Two ambulances and two paramedic officers attended the scene.

One resident who lives on Jews Lane said: "I saw a bloke collapsed on the floor close to Finns (fish and chip shop), there was blood everywhere, it was pretty horrific.

"Police and ambulance arrived really quick and scooped him up and left.

"Another ambulance waited as they were looking for another guy who’d been stabbed.

A large cordon was put in place to protect the scene.

A Spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: ‘We received a 999 call at 11.15pm last night reporting a knife attack in Jews Lane, Upper Gornal, Dudley.

‘It’s understood an offender stabbed a man in the street before attacking a second man inside a property.

‘He fled the scene but a suspect was arrested in Great Barr just before 7am this morning on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody.

‘One man has suffered injuries to his hands, neck and shoulder; the second victim suffered knife wounds to his chest and arm. The injuries are not life threatening.

‘It’s understood the offender is known to the victims and that the incident is domestic related.’
