Darren Barnes, from Bloxwich Road, Walsall, pleaded not guilty to committing the offence, and also denied stealing a hard drive, between July 2 and July 6 this year.

The pleas were entered when he appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday.

The body of Mr Bradley was discovered at his house in St Thomas Close, Coalpool, on July 6 when concerned neighbours called police after not seeing the 65 year old for several days.

A post mortem examination revealed he had been killed as a result of a blunt force trauma to his head.

A trial for Barnes has now been provisionally been scheduled to start at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 2 next year.
