Teenager seriously injured by golf ball thrown from car

A teenager suffered a serious eye injury after a golf ball thrown from a passing car hit him in the face.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident in Wombourne which left the 15-year-old boy seriously injured.

He was walking along Common Road with his father at around 11.25pm on March 14 when he was struck in the eye by what is believed to have been a golf ball thrown from a passing car.

Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses who were in the area and may have seen four cars travelling at speed along Common Road at the stated time, or have knowledge of the incident.

The victim suffered a serious eye injury which required hospital treatment.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote incident number 46 of March 15.
