Man charged for threats with fake gun

A man has been charged on suspicion of threatening people with a fake gun including one victim while he was defrosting his car.

Joseph Hall, from Windsor Road, Cheslyn Hay, was arrested in connection with three related incidents in Walsall on Tuesday morning.

The 31-year-old has been charged with robbery, two counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, shoplifting and driving without insurance or a licence.

He was due to appear at Walsall Magistrates' Court this morning.

West Midlands Police confirmed an imitation firearm was recovered as part of the investigation.

The charges relate to an incident which took place in Central Close, Dudley Fields, Bloxwich around 5.45am.

The force was then alerted to a second incident in Sutton Coldfield at 7.15am.

It culminated in a large armed officer presence descending on Northgate Aldridge around 9am shortly before the arrest was made in the area.
