Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of double Walsall stabbing

Two teenagers have been arrested after another two teens were allegedly stabbed in Walsall.

Two teenage boys sustained leg injuries, believed to have been caused by a knife, on Cavendish Road in Beechdale. Two other teenage boys, aged 17 and 14, remain in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of assault.

The incident happened around 4.20pm on Friday afternoon.

A heavy police presence was sent to the scene as the incident was believed to be more severe than it turned out, with residents also reporting seeing armed police and an air ambulance.

One man, who did not want to be named, said: "There was a crowd of kids gathered around the ash track.

"An unmarked police car pulled up and two armed officers got out."

It is believed the alleged stabbings took place on a pathway just off Cavendish Road.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to Cavendish Road, Beechdale, Walsall around 4.20pm on Friday afternoon where two teenage boys had sustained leg injuries believed to have been caused by a knife.

"Two other teenage boys, aged 17 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

"Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call police on 101."
