Timothy Pascal was at the wheel of a stolen Ford Fiesta when he lost control of the car in Halesowen Road, Netherton, on March 19, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard yesterday.

The vehicle ploughed into a telegraph pole, knocking it into a canal.

Pascal, of Ashfield Crescent, Netherton, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and causing serious injury by dangerous driving to both Ryan Plimmer and Courtney Miller.

Pascal further admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice on the same day and driving without insurance.

He denied causing Lauren Lunn serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was remanded in custody for a pre-sentence report until May 31 when details of the case are expected to be outlined to the court.

Judge Amjad Nawaz told Pascal: "There is little likelihood of anything other than custody being the final outcome."
