Stourbridge stabbings: Trial date set for man accused of double murder

A provisional trial date has been set for a man accused of murdering a mother and her son at their Stourbridge home.

Aaron Barley, aged 23, of no fixed address, is charged with the murder of Tracey Wilkinson, 50, and 13-year-old Pierce Wilkinson.

They were killed at their home in Greyhound Lane, Stourbridge, last week.

Barley is also charged with the attempted murder of Peter Wilkinson, 47, who remains in hospital having been found with multiple stab wounds.

At Birmingham Crown Court today Barley, wearing a dark t-shirt, spoke only to confirm his name. He did not enter a plea.

A provisional trial date was set for October 3 and it was estimated it could last two weeks.

Barley was remanded in custody and will next appear in court for a plea hearing, but a date has not been set.
