Cash stolen during shop robbery near Wolverhampton prompting police appeal

Two men have been arrested after a shop was targeted in a robbery near Wolverhampton.

Robbers entered Day Today shop, in Brownshore Lane, Essington, on Friday afternoon.

The men entered the shop and threatened the female assistant, said police.

Officers say fortunately she was not injured and no weapon was seen.

The men fled on foot with a quantity of cash from the till in the robbery which happened at around 5pm.

The two arrested are aged 28 and 38, and from Wolverhampton.

They were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in February.

Officers are keen to trace a third individual believed to be involved.
