Thug smashes pub windows with golf club - after being 'refused a drink' - WATCH

This is the moment a thug smashed in the windows of a pub with a golf club - in what the pub owners believe was a revenge attack for being refused a drink.

The man was caught on camera taking the golf club to the windows of the Waggon and Horses pub, Worcester Street, Stourbridge, around 3am on Monday morning.

Determined landlord Dan Wilkes insists the pub will remain open while it's being repaired.

Dan, who's been running the boozer for two and a half years, said: "To have someone smash our windows in is really upsetting.

"There was a customer here earlier on who didn't like being refused a drink.

"I guess it's part of owning your own business, but we need all the support we can get right now.

"We apologise to our customers for the unsightly view while we get the windows repaired but please don't walk on by, we are still open!"

Dan and his wife Amy were asleep upstairs when it happened.

Dan added: "We heard a banging but I thought it was just a dream.

"Amy then woke me up and we ran downstairs, but by that time they'd gone.

"We then called the police and checked the CCTV.

"Luckily the glass hasn't broken all the way through, they just damaged the outside layer."

The damage left to the windows in the attack

It's not the first time the pub has been vandalised, having had their windows smashed with a metal bar in August 2016.

The pub posted on their Facebook page: "Unfortunately we've had our windows put in again at 3.00am this morning.

"We're all fine and business will be open as usual.

"Apologies for the the unsightly view that we'll have until we get them fixed again but please don't walk on by because we need your support and you all know that we're not a rough pub.

"Bad start to the new year but we'll come back stronger don't worry about that."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Officers are viewing CCTV and anyone with information can call police on 101."
