Georgie Ann Evans: Driver jailed for six years after killing teen and fleeing the scene

A speeding driver who killed teenager Georgie Ann Evans in a hit-and-run crash in the Black Country has today been locked up for six years.

Kuba Oles was travelling so fast when his Audi A6 hurtled into Miss Evans' Ford Fiesta that her car was torn in half, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard this morning.

He was handed a six-year jail term and a 14-year driving ban after admitting causing the 18-year-old's death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at a road accident and failing to report an accident.

Oles, aged 24 and of Beaconview Road, West Bromwich, killed Miss Evans when he he smashed the Audi he was driving into her Ford Fiesta in Dudley at around 10.30pm on October 27 last year.

The teenager from Himley died at the scene of the crash, on Priory Road at the junction of Cedar Road, and Oles handed himself into police a day later.

At the time Miss Evans' parents paid tribute to their teenage daughter, who they described as 'beautiful, kind-hearted and spirited'.

Oles has also been charged with a dangerous driving offence on Birmingham New Road allegedly committed in the same month he killed Miss Evans.
