Carl Campbell murder: Two men charged after man shot in head in West Bromwich

Two men have been charged with the murder of Carl Campbell, who died after being shot in the head in West Bromwich.

Mohammed Humza and 24-year-old Vikesh Chauhan were charged last night after Mr Campbell was killed on Tuesday afternoon.

Shots were fired into the stationary Ford Fiesta that Mr Campbell had been in on Dartmouth Street, close to the junction of High Street.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Humza and Chauhan, from the West Bromwich area, appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court today.

Campbell was killed on Tuesday after shots were fired into a stationary Ford Fiesta he was in on Dartmouth Street, close to the junction of High Street.

Humza and Chauhan have both also been charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing a Smith and Wesson handgun and the attempted murder of Rakesh Tony.

All charges relate to the same incident.

The pair, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm their names. They were remanded in custody until a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court tomorrow.

A grey Audi Q5 believed to have been involved in the shooting was recovered in Kiniths Crescent, West Bromwich.

The arrests were made a short time after the killing, in Dagger Lane.

West Midlands Police said: "Detectives continue to appeal for anyone in West Bromwich High Street driving away from Dartmouth Road just after 2.30pm on Tuesday to come forward."
