He was pronounced dead at the scene, in Hunton Road, Erdington, Birmingham.

A man aged 34, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of murder, kidnap and robbery yesterday and was in police custody today for questioning.

Det Insp Warren Hines said: "This is a significant step in our investigation into the death of Kaydel.

"This remains an active inquiry and I would still urge anyone who hasn't already spoken to us - and may have vital information - to come forward."

Police have been looking into reports he had been bundled into a car at The Gardens, Erdington, by a group of men just five minutes before his body was found.

A man aged 22 was also assaulted and was left with minor injuries.

The scene of the incident cordoned off by police

Kaydel's family paid tribute to him in a statement: "Kaydel was a vibrant soul and a humorous character, who was well mannered, caring and highly regarded by others.

"He was always giving and did it with a smile.

"Kaydel was a loving individual with such great potential, a beautiful soul gone too soon.

"He will be missed deeply by family and friends. Always in our hearts and thoughts, we love you."
