Teenagers shot at with air rifle at branch of Sainsbury's

Shoppers at a Sainsbury's superstore were reportedly shot at with an air rifle as they walked through its car park.

The incident involved two teenage girls at Sainsbury's in Anders Square, in Perton.

The girls, aged 13 and 14, were walking across the car park at around 6pm on Sunday.

They saw a man lean out the window of a black car.

They heard a pellet hit a wall behind them but they were uninjured.

Staffordshire Police attended but found no sign of the culprits.

A Sainsbury's spokesman said the store was closed at 4pm on Sunday.
