Kenichi Phillips murder: Man charged over teenager's death following dawn Dudley raid

A man has been charged with the murder of teenager Kenichi Phillips following a dawn raid in Dudley.

Isiah Young-Wright, aged 36, of no fixed address, was appearing at Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.

He stands accused of murder, attempted murder, attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous harm and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He was arrested at an address in Dixons Green Road just after 5am today and later charged.

Kenichi Phillips, aged 18, was shot dead on St Marks Crescent in the Ladywood area of Birmingham as he sat in a black Seat Leon just before 7pm on March 17.

A 24-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, was released on police bail.

Two other people have already been charged over Mr Phillips' death.

Dean Silvera, aged 37 from Dial Close in Druids Heath, and 18-year-old Disharn Downie from Gravel Bank, Bartley Green, are currently on trial at Birmingham Crown Court accused of murder.
