Key Kenichi Phillips murder suspect arrested in dawn Dudley raid

A wanted man has been arrested by police in Dudley over the fatal shooting of a teenager.

Isaiah Wright-Young, 36, was arrested at an address in Dixons Green Road just after 5am today, along with a woman suspected of hiding him from police.

He was wanted in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Kenichi Phillips and a £5,000 reward had been put out for information leading to his arrest.

Mr Phillips was shot dead in St Marks Crescent in the Ladywood area of Birmingham as he sat in a black Seat Leon on March 17 this year.

Wright-Young will be questioned by detectives over the murder, while the 24-year-old woman will be interviewed on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Two other people have already been charged over Mr Phillips' death.

Dean Silvera, aged 37 from Dial Close in Druids Heath, and 18-year-old Disharn Downie from Gravel Bank, Bartley Green, are currently on trial at Birmingham Crown Court accused of murder.

West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Jim Munro, said: "This is a significant development in the case and our efforts to secure justice for Kenichi Phillips and his family.

"I am keen to hear from anyone who can shed light on Wright-Young's movements since March 17.
