£700,000 of cannabis seized in West Midlands raids

Nearly £700,000 worth of cannabis was seized during a trio of police raids that saw one person arrested.

Officers from West Midlands Police's Cannabis Disposal Team hit addresses yesterday and discovered more than 1,000 plants.

They arrested one person after executing a warrant at Sandland Road in Willenhall where 449 plants were seized in a downstairs road and from what the force described as a 'large set-up' in the loft.

The biggest haul came at Prosser Street, near Fallings Park, Wolverhampton, where 696 plants were found although no arrests were made.

Officers also officers seized a further 217 plants at Leslie Road in Perry Barr, Birmingham.
